Pic's Picks: Website Wednesday

With many 5k, 10k, 5-miler, 10-miler, half and full marathon runs coming up within the local community and Philadelphia area over the next few months, I wanted to use this website Wednesday to show a website I use when I train for races and when I want to go out on a daily jog.

The weather is starting to get nicer and there is no better way to experience it than going on a nice walk or run.  We usually time ourselves saying we will stay out for 20-40 minutes at a time. But, do you ever wonder how far in distance you have ran or walked? Do you ever think to yourself, 'Am I completing this route faster?'

With www.mapmyrun.com, you are able to map out your root, track your progress, and communicate with others within the local community. MapMyRun also offers smartphone applications, allowing you to see how far you have traveled, the speed at which you are moving, and your estimated amount of time per mile while you're being active.
When you're running or walking, it is hard to keep track of time because you are focusing on your strides and breathing. Let MapMyRun give you aid and help you complete a satisfying run.

I have used this website for daily runs and I also used it for my half-marathon training. I recommend it to everyone!!!

Pic's Picks: Youtube Tuesday

After watching the Super Bowl a view weeks back and seeing the Grammy's on Sunday night, I can't help but think of Christina Aguilera messing up the words to the National Anthem and then her falling at the Grammy's (not sure if many of you caught her tripping on her dress and the other singers catching her before she ate it.)

With that being in my train of thought, I knew I had to come up with a youtube video of someone falling.

So this video incorporates someone falling and someone else in the same occupation as me.

I will have to admit, I laugh more at this video because of the anchor's laugh, not the model who is tripping. Hope it gives everyone a chuckle.

Enjoy!!!

Pic's Picks: Website Wednesday

For website Wednesday, all of you with an iphone will appreciate greatly what I am about to post.

Website of the day: www.damnyouautocorrect.com

For iphone individuals like myself, there are MANY MANY MANYYYYY times when I am writing a text message to someone, fingers moving fast as lighting, knowing I’m hitting the exact keys I want, and once the message is sent, I realize that auto correct changed a word of mine screwing up my ENTIRE text, usually creating a message that makes no sense what-so-ever or making something very inappropriate.
Take a look at all these other suckers who have had the same problem as me. I’ve been keeping an eye out on whether any of my messages can be posted on this website. I hope the website makes you have a great laugh today. Cheers!

Pic's Picks: Celeb Saturday

Hola amigos!

Not much time to post today so I'll be quick and to the point. For my first celeb Saturday I am including two of my favorite celebs....Stacy London and Clinton Kelly.

'What Not To Wear' is one of my favorite shows and this weeks episode had me in TEARS with the girl who was on there. This episode was a make-UNDER, not a make-over. Since seeing this episode, all I say now is "SUUUPER CUTEEEE." Enjoy!

Fab info #2: IT’S FRIDAY PEOPLE!!!!

In about three hours most of us will be free and on with our weekend shenanigans.  Anyone doing anything great? Anything you’d like the rest of us to know about? I’ll be honest....what I’m looking forward to most this weekend is:
1. Facebook trash talking about the Super Bowl.
2. Angry Facebook statuses after whichever team loses.
3. Stuffing my face on Sunday and not feeling guilty about it because come on, it’s a special occasion, its the Super Bowl baby.
4. The Super Bowl commercials (which I’m usually more excited about than the game because clearly the Eagles don’t like to play in championship games)
5. Spending time with my amazing family whom I have missed so much the past 6 years. It’s finally time to play catch up.

Fab info #3: Spend your fab Friday with some fabulous people.

Without a question I will be spending my fab Friday with some fabulous people. I have a fab hibachi dinner date with some fab friends tonight. I have a fab family to hang out with later tonight. And I have a fab guy to go home and cuddle with...you all know who that is. Gatsby :)

Have a great weekend everyone.

Cheers!!

Pic's Picks: vroom get in your car for Tunes Thursday

Good afternoon all!

Tunes Thursday has arrived. Today I wrote a piece on an auto body shop called Just Crusin' (keep an eye out for it in tomorrow's paper, you have a chance of winning $500 for free!) and what better way to tie this into the day with car themed songs that you just loooveeeeee to jam out to. Sing, dance, enjoy yourself! Who cares what others think while you do it....I clearly don't and I know I get laughed at because I see people point and giggle :)

Kick back, relax, and listen to these great hits on your car ride home from work today. Cheers!

WEBSITE WEDNESDAY 2/2:
For Website Wednesday I have to put the PennDot website. WHY YOU ASK? I just recently moved back to the area (born and raised here) and for as long as I can remember I have ALWAYS wanted a vanity plate. Now that I'm settled back into the mother land, I figured this is my time to go ahead and do it.  Finding this PennDot website has kept me entertained for DAYS because it allows you to put in vanity plates you'd like to get and if it is available or not.  While I do have one in mind (not telling until I get it b/c it IS available), I have spent countless hours typing in absurd vanity plates....funny one, inappropriate ones, obvious one, ones my friends have to see if the thing is lying. You get my drift. If you have any interest in getting one, go ahead and check it out...see if what you want is free or just be easily amused like myself.

Best vanity plate I have EVER seen was when I lived on Cape Cod. Plate said: OHMYCOD
